This Privacy Policy explains how MomenZone ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our iOS application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Overview
MomenZone is a personal diary and memory journal app. You can create entries with text and photos, organize them with tags, browse a timeline and history, mark favorite layouts, manage drafts, choose cover layouts (Minimal, Magazine, or Poster), and export entries as PDF files. Most of your content is stored locally on your device. We do not operate a social network, public profile directory, or cloud backup service for your diary library unless otherwise stated in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may process the following categories of information:
2.1 Information you provide
- Diary content: titles, body text, tags, draft status, favorites, cover layout choices, and timestamps.
- Photos and images: images you import from your photo library, capture with your camera, or attach to diary entries.
- Profile information: display nickname and avatar image you choose in the Profile section.
- Exported files: PDF exports generated from your diary entries on your device.
2.2 Device and app data stored locally
- A pseudonymous app identifier and session token used to establish the app session automatically. No username or password is required.
- Virtual coin balance, coin transaction history, and in-app purchase transaction identifiers used to prevent duplicate coin grants.
- App preferences such as privacy agreement status and unlocked cover templates.
2.3 Device permissions
The App may request access to:
- Camera — to capture photos for diary entries or your profile avatar.
- Photo Library (read) — to import images into diary entries or your profile.
- Photo Library (add) — to save exported PDFs or images when you choose to export or share them.
You can manage these permissions in your device Settings. If permission is denied, related features may not work.
2.4 In-app purchases
Purchases of virtual coins are processed by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). We receive purchase confirmation and transaction identifiers needed to credit coins to your local balance. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Payment data is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide core App features, including creating, editing, viewing, tagging, favoriting, drafting, and organizing diary entries.
- Generate cover layouts and export diary entries as PDF files on your device.
- Operate the virtual coin system, including welcome coin grants, spending on new diary creation, premium cover templates, and crediting purchased coins.
- Maintain your profile, session, and in-app preferences.
- Improve reliability, security, and user experience of the App.
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. Where Data Is Stored
Local-first storage: Diary entries, photos, profile data, coin balances, and most app activity are stored on your device using a local database and file storage. We do not upload your diary library to our servers for backup or sync.
Apple processes in-app purchase payments according to Apple's own privacy policy.
5. Virtual Coins
Coins are a virtual in-app currency with no real-world cash value outside the App. New users may receive a one-time welcome coin grant (currently 255 coins). Coins may be spent on features such as creating a new published diary entry (85 coins per entry), and premium cover templates — Magazine and Poster layouts currently cost 15 coins each to unlock. The Minimal template is free. Coin packs are available for purchase through Apple's in-app purchase system.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information only in these cases:
- Apple: for payment processing and App Store compliance.
- Legal requirements: when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- With your direction: when you export, share, or save content using iOS sharing features.
7. Data Retention
Diary content and profile data remain on your device until you delete individual entries, use Delete Data in Profile settings, or uninstall the App. Deleting your data permanently removes your diary entries, profile data, coin balance and history, avatar files, and associated local files from your device. Some purchase transaction identifiers and the one-time welcome-grant flag may be retained locally to prevent duplicate coin crediting after data deletion.
8. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your information. Within the App, you can:
- Edit or delete individual diary entries at any time.
- Update your nickname and avatar in Profile.
- Return to the entry screen without deleting stored content.
- Delete associated local data through Profile > Delete Data.
- Manage device permissions in iOS Settings.
To exercise privacy rights not available in-app, contact us using the details in Section 13.
9. Children's Privacy
MomenZone is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed by the App. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and iOS account.
11. International Users
MomenZone is offered to users in multiple regions. If you use the App from outside your home country, your information may be processed in jurisdictions with different data protection laws. By using the App, you consent to such processing as described in this policy.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top will be revised when changes are posted. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be communicated in the App where appropriate.
